Of the many schools that Shahab considered, he chose to enrol in Global Academy because he found its Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts curriculum as the right fit for him and his future plans.
Shahab did not have it easy in school. A star student, he was always challenged by his mentor, Chef Jun Manalo of Global Academy’s Timog branch. “I now know that he saw my potential and wanted to push me to my limit.”
After graduating in 2011, Shahab wanted to set up her own business, but got drawn into the hospitality industry instead. Soon after, he found himself working as Senior Chef de Partie at Rixos Rab al Bahr, a five-star hotel in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
Shahab is now back in the Philippines and is enjoying his job as Executive Chef at SEDA Hotels by Ayalaland Hotels and Resorts. “I still want to set up my own establishment. I hope I can pursue that in the near future.”
