After thorough research, Ronalynne, “Rocky” to her friends, signed up for the Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts program at Global Academy. Having previously studied in a different school, the returning culinary student thought it was going to be a walk in the park.
Nothing could have prepared Rocky for the stress and pressure of Global Academy’s curriculum and hands-on training. She now knows her experience in school has adequately prepared her for what it takes to be a chef in the real world.
Rocky was only looking forward to getting employed, but her chef instructors motivated her to dream bigger. She got her first taste of the “real world” when she was offered a job at her internship venue, Raffles and Fairmont Makati. Now she is transferring to its new restaurant called Mireio as an opening team.
“Success in this industry does not come in a snap. It takes patience, sacrifices, hard work. You need to put in long hours, and have the commitment before you can make it. You need to be able to respond to new challenges. I learned these at Global Academy.”
