Malissa was a restaurant owner when she enrolled in Global Academy’s Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts. “I wanted to enrich my culinary knowledge and use this in expanding my restaurant.”
For Malissa, it was easy to make the choice. “I heard good things about the school, and their programs looked very impressive. Most of all, I learned that it was the first local school to receive the World Association of Chefs Societies Recognition of Quality Culinary Education. That sealed the deal for me.”
As a Global Academy student, Malissa learned the value of perseverance one laboratory day. “I had issues with my ingredients and wanted to give up but my chef instructor said these things always happen during service. I should learn how to deal with these situations better.”
“The most important lesson is the work ethics that I picked up from my instructors. They did not settle. They always wanted only the best coming out of the kitchen. This inspired me a lot in making sure that all my dishes reflect the best part of myself as a cook.”
