Philip earned his Grand Diploma in Professional Culinary, Baking and Pastry Arts from Global Academy in 2011. The following year, he started working in the kitchens of Two Seasons Coron in Palawan.
Six years and several stints in different restaurants later, Philip is finally living his childhood dream of running his very own restaurant: Chives Bistro and Market in Antipolo, Rizal.
“You can’t be a great chef overnight,” said Philip. He credits his culinary diploma for preparing him for his career, and hard work for ultimately reaching his dreams.
“It still feels weird whenever I hear my staff call me ‘chef’. I used to tell people I’m not a chef yet. My experiences in school and in the real world taught me to be humble,” said Philip.
