Two years ago, Marvin finished his Grand Diploma in Professional Culinary, Baking and Pastry Arts course at Global Academy and jumped straight to employment at the posh The Ritz Carlton – Sharq Village and Spa Hotel in Doha, Qatar.
It was the first step towards his dream of becoming “one of the great chefs in town.” Marvin has since been promoted twice to Commis 3 since he joined The Ritz Carlton.
“Being part of Global Academy was a great experience,” Marvin recalls. He said it taught him some important values, work ethics, and the basic cooking techniques that he is now using to thrive in his work.
With every achievement, Marvin makes it a point to remember his chef-instructors. “They inspire me to be a better person and to reach for my culinary dream. I will forever be grateful to Chef Terence Fereday, for influencing me and believing in what I can do.”
